Vancouver news site praising CBOBC
quickly becoming highly respected

“The Campaign to build One Big Campaign” (CBOBC) has become a near-unavoidable presence for progressive Canadians on the Internet,” says the Vancouver Observer. As one of the founders of CBOBC, I’m sure everyone in our group is pleased to receive praise from what I can easily say has become one of the country’s best news and analysis sites.

The Vancouver Observer
“With its rapid-fire news updates, biting political cartoons and aggressive push for campaigns such as BlackOutSpeakOut, the group is pushing progressive politics in ways that old-fashioned letter-writing never could" writes Observer Managing Editor Jenny Uechi in an article posted on the Observer site on June 22nd

Yes, CBOBC’s edgy Facebook project is growing by leaps and bounds – just like the Observer. Led by Pulitzer Prize nominated journalist Linda Solomon, the Observer has made in-roads in Canadian media. Significantly, the paper is led by a team of women editors and journalists. They are the winner of the 2012 Canadian Journalism Foundation Excellence in Journalism Award.

After you have read Jenny’s feature on CBOBC, please have a look at some of their other excellent stories and subscribe.

  1. Too bad more of the information on One Big Camapign's Facebook page can't be put on your blog. I expect there's many people who read this who would like a source (of some nature) outside of Fb. (Perhaps some will chime in within this Comment section if they agree with this)

I don't do Facebook as a matter of principle.

But I do check Nick's website from time to time!

    1. The real sin against life is to abuse and destroy beauty, even one's own even more, one's own, for that has been put in our care and we are responsible for its well-being.

  3. From The Anglican Journal:
"True patriot love: A sermon for Canada Day
By the Rev. Dr. Gary Nicolosi

In April 1775, the British essayist Samuel Johnson wrote, “Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel.” He was wrong. There is a profound difference between nationalism, which is bad, and patriotism, which is good.

Nationalism is one nation lording it over other nations. It is the expression of national superiority that causes even good people to do evil things in the name of the Motherland or Fatherland. The common adage, “My country right or wrong” is an expression of nationalism, even by people who would not otherwise think of themselves as being nationalistic."

    The Harpies Cons are "nationalists"

    Progressives are/must be 'Patriots'

  4. Stephen Harper is an always has been above all other monikers that he may carry, a megalomaniac. Which of course includes being a Corporate Zealot and a Right Wing Christian Fundamentalist. As Stephen Harper congeals his power base with his relentless attack on all things Democratic, his Sociopathic mind will ultimately overpower his ability to think clearly. This overpowering mental state he is whipping himself into will certainly end in his mind washing out into a psychopathic twisted pile of confusion and incoherent babbling. So in the end, he will discover that there truly is a god, and this is his fate and punishment for unleashing all of the pain and suffering that we as Canadians will all feel as a direct result of his megalomania tendencies. And so it goes, as we as a nation all will feel the sting of allowing what I clearly see as a madman running what "WAS" the best country on Earth to live in, into a Republican Style fascist country full of hollowed out cities with Massive Urban Ghettos full of crime and human suffering. If you want to see what Harper policies will bring to the landscape of Canada. SEE: America

    2. I agree 100% Brent, I just wish it would happen sooner rather than later - he and his ilk can do terrible damage before their minds "wash[ ] out into a psychopathic twisted pile of confusion and incoherent babbling". The satisfaction of witnessing such a spectacle would be considerable but never worth the generations of rebuilding required.

  9. Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you're using? I'm going to
start my own blog in the near future but I'm having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique.

P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
